About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School-Based Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges within a structured educational environment. The ideal candidate will partner closely with teachers, BCBAs, and school staff to promote positive behavior, improve classroom engagement, and help students achieve their academic and social goals.
Responsibilities
+ Provide 1:1 and small-group behavioral support to students in classroom and school settings.
+ Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies under the supervision of a BCBA.
+ Support classroom instruction by reinforcing academic tasks, assisting with transitions, and promoting on-task behavior.
+ Collect accurate data on student behavior and skill development to guide treatment planning and progress monitoring.
+ Foster communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and functional life skills.
+ Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated support across school and home environments.
+ Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to district and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
+ Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (required or willing to obtain).
+ Experience working with students with autism or behavioral needs in school, ABA, or therapeutic settings.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
+ Ability to follow behavioral plans, collect data, and work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.
+ Patience, consistency, and the ability to maintain a calm, supportive presence with students.
+ Additional caregiving or CNA experience is a plus, especially for students who may require personal-care or safety support.
