The 3P (Third Party) and AMZL (Amazon Last Mile) Safety Program Manager will lead Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) for Amazon Last Mile 3P operations across multiple eDSP (Extended Delivery Service Partner—Amazon's delivery partner program) stations, Delivery Partners, Flex (independent contractors) Delivery Associates, and "I Have Space" (local store owners) partners. We are looking for strong, self-driven leaders who are passionate about safety and will help build a strong EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) culture and compliance across our 3P partners. The leader will be responsible for upholding Amazon's Worldwide WHS vision of making our operations safe for all partners. They will need to stay updated on India's safety regulatory framework to provide the right EHS support to independent contractors/partners within the legal ambit. This individual will partner with Regional Safety Managers, Channel Operations Teams, and Legal Teams to ensure partner compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens (continuous improvement initiatives), this role will drive continuous improvement initiatives across partners to reduce risk Under the Roof (sites, stations) and Out on Road (delivery) for partners. The leader must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change by providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
As a 3P and AMZL Regional leader, this role will be working with the AMZL Safety Leader for India operations to create and update the Business Unit (BU) strategy. They will provide updates to India operations leadership on monthly and quarterly progress on the strategy through Monthly Business Review (MBR) and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) documents. This role will require identifying best practices and incorporating them into our standards to continuously improve partner safety policies. The candidate must possess excellent safety program management skills and relevant safety, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge, and demonstrate this expertise when working with partners.
The job would require 50% travel pan-India to assess partner performance and work with channel teams to streamline performance. The candidate would be expected to utilize approved communication channels to run safety campaigns for independent contractors and partners. They will create mechanisms to gauge partner performance and update leadership through weekly and monthly review processes. The candidate would be a people manager leading a regional team of 3–6 direct reports across India.
This role shall be responsible for the following, at a minimum:
Create 3P Safety Strategy for all Third-Party and eDSP partners
Author the annual strategy document, monthly MBR, and quarterly QBR documents for AMZL and eDSP
Review safety projects and site visits executed by the Channel Team/WHS Field Team
Evaluate helmet adherence score data
Analyze zone-specific incidents being raised and highlight actions required at the station level to improve reporting adoption and quality
Connect with Safety Points of Contact (POCs) to get updates on campaign activities and safety performance; check if any safety commodities/PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) are required; and provide feedback on safety metrics
Conduct metrics-specific deep dives and derive action plans to prevent recurrence
Validate training requirements
Enable peak safety preparation for partners
Engage partners through scheduled meetings
Create and execute partner communication, training, and safety campaigns
Ensure emergency preparedness of partners by evaluating monthly mock drill reports
