Role Description:

The Regional Solution Leader for Procurement & FG is accountable for driving end-to-end growth, pipeline, and market momentum for the solution area across the region. The role leads the orchestration of business development, demand generation, competitive positioning, and ecosystem alignment to accelerate revenue, strengthen SAP’s market leadership, and ensure consistent execution across Market Units.

 

As a people leader, the RSL is responsible for building high-performing teams, enabling solution expertise, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer value. You are responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports, but the success of all employees within the larger team you are a part by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. You are expected to know about the members of your extended team and share insights with your peer managers. Look for opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your input immediately.

The Regional Solution Leader leads the definition and execution of the growth strategy for Procurement & FG across the region, through strategic thought leadership and cross-functional orchestration. The role translates SAP’s priorities into clear, actionable programs in close partnership with the Market Units, strengthening demand generation, pipeline development and execution discipline.

 

The Regional Solution Leader shapes scalable go-to-market approaches, persona-led value propositions, and competitive positioning to improve win rates and expand SAP’s market presence. Acting as a regional connector, the role aligns Sales, Solution Advisory, Value Engineering, and partners around must-win opportunities and high-impact initiatives. 

The Regional Solution Leader brings structure and consistency to regional execution, accelerates adoption of best practices and amplifies success through customer advocacy and repeatable win stories.


Area 1: Lead a direct and indirect team to identify, evaluate and execute on specific, important investment opportunities for SAP.  Leverage and Integrate with the global SAP teams and processes as appropriate to lead and support the growth agenda. Build target markets business development capabilities and organization. Provide program governance and oversight including the allocation of resources.
                                                  
Area 2: Provide leadership in defining new business development strategies and drive execution of the related growth plans across a targeted market. Direct efforts to identify and develop new opportunities to grow a target market, including significant new Go-to-Market, emerging market and hybrid solution partnerships. Ensure new deals and revenue programs can be commercialized and are executable. Establish agreements with target market leadership regarding growth goals and performance expectations from existing or new programs and deals. 

Area 3: Build an effective network/community both internally across Sales, Service, Support, Development and Global teams and externally with significant customers, partners, analysts and consultants. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop actionable strategies, business cases, negotiation strategies and implementation plans. Negotiate complex deals and influence aggressive execution and implementation. Define and ramp-up scalable revenue programs. Create opportunities, focus on the highest value priorities and tactfully manage resistance to change including 3rd party partnership negotiations and defining contractual obligations.

 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Drive regional growth through demand generation and pipeline acceleration in partnership with Market Units, identifying whitespace and mobilizing the right expertise around strategic opportunities. Translate global priorities into clear regional go-to-market programs, scaling solution plays, persona-led messaging, and initiatives that improve competitiveness and win rates. Build and activate trusted relationships with CPOs through executive communities and advisory engagements, converting market insight into advocacy, relevance, and opportunity creation. Lead competitive must-win motions by equipping the field with differentiated positioning and orchestrating regional support around high-impact deals. Ensure strong interlock with the partner ecosystem to expand reach, enable co-selling, and increase execution capacity across priority programs.

 

People Leadership Responsibilities

Build, inspire and develop a high-performance senior regional team of subject matter experts Provide coaching and continuous feedback Identify future leaders and capability gaps Foster collaboration across Lines of Business and roles  - Sales, Solution Advisory, Value Advisory, Customer Success Management and partners Encourage ownership, transparency and execution discipline.

 

Experience

Strong leadership experience in enterprise software sales or solution management. Proven ability to drive pipeline growth and influence large deals. Executive presence with customers and partners. Experience working in matrixed, regional & global environments. Deep understanding of procurement transformation and business value drivers.

Builds strategic partnerships with key decision makers in customer & partner organization Represents SAP to customers / partners Encourages and develops team to cooperate and to freely express their opinions Formulates clear objectives and strategies and work assignments Communicates unpleasant messages in a timely and constructive manner to team Listens openly and attentively to fully understand ideas and opinions within the team

 

Educational Background

Must have an Undergraduate or Master’s degree or equivalent / 10+ years relevant experience
