This position will lead the most critical aspect of safety in road transportation and delivery—from the final delivery hub (Delivery Station, DS), a key role within Amazon Logistics (AMZL), to the customer's doorstep—ensuring reliable delivery to every customer.
AMZL Central Safety provides an environment where everyone working at Amazon's logistics facilities can perform their duties safely and with peace of mind. This position will collaborate with relevant departments to execute the detection of risks related to natural disasters and operations during road transport and at delivery locations, the implementation of preventive and corrective measures, and incident prevention and reduction plans. Furthermore, by promoting standardization, deploys more effective and efficient methods across the domestic and international network.
Specifically, elevates overall safety levels through diverse health and safety promotion activities for road transport and delivery, including creating and implementing annual safe transportation management plans, conducting risk assessments, driver training, and audits.

Key job responsibilities
1. Development and execution of annual safety and health objectives for road transportation and delivery operations from DS
2. Information gathering, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and reporting following incidents
3. Domestic implementation of Amazon Global Policy, creation/introduction/maintenance of safety-related procedures in Japan, and support for safety activities
4. Management of AMZL Road Safety team
5. Preparation of English reports related to the above, including annual plans and Weekly/Monthly Reports, and presentations to AMZL management in English
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3+ years of experience as a full-time employee primarily in safety management within EHS or a similar field (industry not specified)
- Experience providing on-site safety instruction and implementing safety measures
- Experience with EHS related risk assessments, incident root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, and EHS compliance audits
- Team management (supervising 2+ subordinates / 3+ years of management experience)
- Business-level Japanese speaking proficiency
- Business-level English proficiency (capable of creating/reading business documents and conducting meetings)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 45001/39001 Knowledge of domestic EHS related laws
- Experience in traffic safety-related operations Experience in standardizing and implementing requirements based on legal and internal regulations
- Ability to identify issues independently, engage others for collaboration, and motivate people
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and teamwork, excel at multitasking, prioritize tasks, and execute work efficiently
- Skill in explaining events using numbers and data
- Ability to consider workplace priorities, develop realistic countermeasures, coordinate with necessary personnel, and execute them
- Leadership, ownership, and eagerness to learn and master new things
- Ability to act calmly under pressure or in emergencies
