This position is responsible for managing Quality Assurance at a Regional level for multiple facilities. This position must ensure that the company produces safe products of the highest and most consistent quality by overseeing Quality Systems at both the Corporate and plant level. This position will aid in the assessment of operations and manage the creation and implementation of Corporate Quality Assurance Policies and Programs utilized at plant and corporate levels. The position will work closely with each plant QA teams, with each facility QA manager while having a dotted line report to the Director of QA.
Job Opportunity location: Based at a Saputo plant on the East Coast with potential of hybrid work (minimum 3 days weekly onsite when not traveling).
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter
Troubleshoot problems associated with production in approximately five facilities; investigate root cause, develop and implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence through the development of long-term solutions.
Work with Plant Quality Assurance Teams to install appropriate controls, sample plans, hold/release system modifications, code rotation, batching and processing controls, and other production systems where problems might exist.
Develop rapport with Plant and QA managers of all company owned and co-pack customer facilities.
Assure that all plants are always audit- and inspection- ready.
Responsible for troubleshooting to include organizing, prioritizing and completing audit items with plant Quality teams.
Regularly audit facility Food Safety and Food Quality Plans for compliance with Corporate and Customer Policies as well as State and Federal regulations.
Identify and lead Process Quality Improvement initiatives within the assigned region.
Implement measures to effectively track/trend conformance to corporate quality assurance programs to prevent food quality or food safety issues at manufacturing facilities and off-site storage facilities.
Develop and manage sampling plans to monitor finished product quality and compositional results to ensure standards of identity are maintained.
Coordinate QA efforts with Research & Development and vice versa
Work with R&D to ensure that manufacturing and raw material specifications exist and are current and enforced.
Stay current with all key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines. Manage regulatory issues within assigned region to include process filings, unannounced inspections, requirements associated with label compliance and net weight, etc.
Partner with Customer Service and Sales on various Customer Quality Support projects/

You are best suited for the role if you have the following experience, skills, and qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
5 years of managerial QA leadership experience in the dairy (preferred) or beverage manufacturing industry (preferably with multi-plant responsibility) - preferably fluid environments beverage industry, with emphasis on Pasteurized, Ultra-Pasteurized, Extended Shelf Life, Aseptic, and/or Dairy equipment.
Strongly Prefer 3 years of experience with perishable products including Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), milk products, cultured, plant-based, and oil-based beverages.
Prefer multiple plant responsibility & oversight experience.
Prefer thorough understanding of plant production systems, GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, Food Safety, Quality Systems, kosher and organic regulations.
Must possess leadership skills
Must be adaptable and flexible
Must be able to travel frequently, up to 90%

Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged sitting and standing; intermittent lifting of up to 50 lbs. and climbing stairs and ladders. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and laboratory equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and laboratory results.

Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans and prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans. Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively. Ability to do complex math calculations, input data into a computer and analyze data is required. Will work in both office and manufacturing settings. Manufacturing facility environments have inherent risk of chemical and physical hazards, safety policies must be followed.
