Regional QHSE Manager - APAC

What you'll do Support the development and maintainenance of Viasat APACs Integrated EHS and Quality Management Systems. Develop, deploy, and monitor all regional Quality and EHS programs, procedures, policies, and standards in a manner that ensures compliance to Federal, State, and Local legislation, customer expectations, and alignment with Corporate EHS and Quality requirements. Partner with Leadership at multiple levels to ensure alignment and support of Quality and EHS compliance and improvement activities across all of APAC. Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives for QHSE. Define applicability of national and international regulatory requirements through processes and controls. Build effective relationships with key regulatory partners. The day-to-day Act as the EHS point of contact for all Viasat APAC facilities and Quality point of contact for relevant facilities. Accountable representative for ISO9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification for all Viasat relevant facilities. Create and collate EHS and Quality key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, produce relevant reports and initiate targeted prevention programs in conjunction with the QHSE and wider functional and operational teams. Establish and maintain QHSE critical metrics for relevant contractors and other supply chain partners. Perform audits and inspections at all APAC sites at various intervals. Training and/or coordination of training for staff on various QHSE topics such as hazardous materials, waste management, fall protection, confined space, working at height, elevated work platforms, etc. Incident notification, investigation, reporting, and tracking of corrective actions to closure. Manage ongoing communications with internal and external interested parties including account teams, internal management, and customers. Maintain relationships with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, EHS, Corporate Quality, Workplace Services, etc.) to further collaborate in QHSE opportunities and improvements. Travel up to 50%, including international. What you'll need In depth knowledge of Work Health and Safety Managements Systems (WHSMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) across multiple sites and/or countries. Experience managing, presenting, and holding business areas and facilities to account for QHSE targets, objectives, and critical metrics. Experience managing complex projects and audit programs. Strong technical understanding of QHSE issues, life cycle thinking, and their relationship to production/engineering and other job functions. Must be a citizen of Australia and must be able to acquire an Australian Government Secret Clearance (NV1) What will help you on the job In depth experience in QHSE management demonstrating successful management of projects and audit management from kick-off to completion. Bachelor’s degree in Work Health and Safety, environmental management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Related post-education training and certifications such as, but not limited to, COHSProf, ChOHSP, CMIOSH, CIH, CSP, CPEA, or CHMM preferred. Experience leading ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 system across multiple sites. Experience in leading cultural change across an organization; experienced in using multiple approaches to helping people adopt and implement controlled sustained change. Experience implementing EHS standards, training, and legal compliance. Experience working with multiple partners across global teams. Experience establishing metrics, analyzing data, and developing dashboards and reporting, including executive reporting. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments. Expert project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities. A passion for EHS, sustainability and social responsibility and an in depth understanding of the global context, various partners, concerns, and impacts related to this subject area.
