Regional Operations Leader
**Description** **The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here.** **Job Summary** + The Regional Director of Operations & Equipment Optimization is responsible for leading multi-state operational performance with a dual focus on labor efficiency and fleet/equipment utilization. This role integrates operational leadership with equipment strategy to drive productivity, cost control, and service excellence across all locations in the region. The position partners closely with field leadership to ensure optimal workforce deployment, efficient equipment usage, and alignment with company financial and operational goals. + Role Impact: This role is critical in bridging operational execution with asset optimization—ensuring the region maximizes both its people and equipment resources to drive sustainable, profitable growth. **Duties and Responsibilities:** _Operational Leadership_ + Lead day-to-day operations across a multi-state region, ensuring consistent execution of company safe operating standards + Partner with Branch Managers and Operations leaders to drive labor productivity, quality, and service delivery + Implement best practices to improve crew efficiency, scheduling, and output + Standardize workflows and operating procedures across all locations _Labor Efficiency & Workforce Optimization_ + Analyze labor metrics (hours, productivity rates, overtime, crew ratios & staffing levels) to identify improvement opportunities + Develop and implement strategies to optimize labor utilization and reduce inefficiencies + Leverage Field Service Management to ensure appropriate production planning and crew utilization + Partner with HR and field leadership on workforce planning, staffing models, and training + Drive accountability for labor cost management and productivity targets at all levels _Equipment & Fleet Management_ + Oversee regional equipment strategy including allocation, utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle planning + Ensure optimal deployment of equipment across branches to maximize usage and minimize downtime + Partner with procurement and maintenance teams to manage capital expenditures and replacement planning + Implement tracking and reporting tools to monitor equipment and vehicle utilization & performance + Coordinate asset disposal with the fleet department _Financial Performance_ + Support regional P&L performance with direct influence on labor and equipment cost drivers + Develop budgets and forecasts related to labor and equipment expenses + Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational effectiveness + Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve margins _Data, Analytics & Continuous Improvement_ + Leverage data and reporting tools to drive decisions on labor and equipment optimization + Establish dashboards and performance metrics for field leaders to track and monitor branch productivity and effectiveness (mower hours, mow-mix planners, labor planners). + Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and cost efficiency + Champion technology adoption (Lytx, telematics, fuel usage, workforce management tools, scheduling systems) _Leadership & Collaboration_ + Coach and influence Branch Managers and Operations Managers for optimal service delivery + Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement + Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Safety, and Procurement teams + Serve as a key liaison between field operations and corporate leadership regarding equipment assets by partnering with branch managers and operations managers for feedback _Compliance & Safety_ + Ensure adherence to all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies + Promote safe operation and proper preventative maintenance and maintenance of all equipment (mower hours, tires, equipment guards) + Partner with safety teams to reduce incidents and improve compliance **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred not required) + 8–12+ years of progressive experience in operations leadership, fleet/equipment management, or related roles + Proven experience managing multi-site or multi-state operations + Strong background in labor management, productivity improvement, and cost control (Lean Operations, Six-sigma, Kaizen) + Experience with fleet management systems, telematics, or equipment tracking tools preferred **Core Competencies** + Operational and financial acumen + Data-driven (Fact-based) decision making + Process improvement and continuous improvement mindset + Leadership and team development + Cross-functional collaboration and influence + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)** + Labor productivity (output per labor hour) + Labor cost as a percentage of revenue + Equipment utilization rates + Equipment downtime and maintenance costs + Overtime reduction and workforce efficiency + Regional profitability and margin improvement + Safety performance (incident rates, compliance metrics) **Physical Demands/Requirements:** + Combination of field visits, branch support, and remote work + Requires regular site inspections and operational reviews + Extensive travel (50–70%) across assigned multi-state region. Ability to travel by car, train, and plane + Position is a combination of mobile and sedentary work; must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time + May spend time working away from BrightView’s places of business, walking job sites, selling and obtaining orders or contracts for BrightView’s services + Position needs to be able to traverse uneven grounds and walk on job sites with clients and the branch team for periods of time + Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur **Work Environment:** + Operates in both an office environment and in the Field **_BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
