POSITION PURPOSE

The Southeast Michigan (SEMI) Market Neuroscience Director job function assignment provides oversight of the SEMI Neuroscience Program and works with Neuroscience personnel to implement, coordinate and sustain both medical and inter-departmental components of the program.

Provides oversight the five SE Michigan Trinity Health hospitals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.  Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Valid RN licensure authorized in the applicable state(s) of practice / employment.

Leadership experience and / or other experience / licensure / certifications aligned with area of responsibility and assignment.

Preferred: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or other terminal degree (e.g., EDD, PhD, DrPH)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leads SEMI Neuroscience Market and areas of responsibility across multiple campuses; responsible to meet objectives and deliverables to multiple senior leadership teams.

Develops, implements and administers the strategic business and financial plans in accordance with organizational strategic plan, integrating them into the daily program operations.  Documents, communicates and revises plans annually to act as a guide.

Develops and implements systems to ensure the quality, efficient, cost-effective operations which support and achieve goals and objectives of the clinical service lines assigned. Works in partnership with key stakeholders, including members of the medical staff, to achieve desired clinical, financial and people outcomes for patients and staff. Along with physicians, identifies changes needed within department and implements, manages and evaluates the change process.

Participates in ongoing quality monitoring, policy review, and process improvement activities related to assigned Clinical Services. Uses data from a variety of sources to support decision-making.

Develops short and long-term plans for the department(s) in collaboration with the Medical Directors and key physician partners and assumes overall responsibility for the service lines’ performance including the preparation, administration and monitoring of capital and operating budgets; plans for future capital purchases and the development of pro-formas for new services; analyzes variances and develops appropriate corrective action plans; ensures that the service line profitability is in line with strategic and financial plans.

Full complement of management responsibilities including short and long-term planning and development, human resource management, managing and developing physician relationships, financial accountability (including financial assessments), quality assessment and improvement, regulatory compliance, productivity management, operational excellence and assuring consistency with the organizational and health system strategic plans.
