Technical Governance & Standards
Establish and enforce regional standards for:Geological interpretation and 3D modeling.Domaining and geostatistical estimation (e.g., Ordinary Kriging, Indicator Kriging, MIK, ID2 where applicable).Variography and spatial continuity analysis.Density assignment, compositing, and capping strategies.Ensure modeling workflows are documented, auditable, and compliant with SK-1300, NI 43-101, or other applicable reporting codes.Review and approve site-level geological models and Mineral Resource updates.Own high priority geological model updates as required by the business. Coordinate with District MRMs and Resource Geologists to mutually determine geological modeling priorities that are fit-for-purpose to business requirements. Other responsibilities as needed.Provide a biweekly report to the MRM SLT tracking progress, critical milestones, risks and opportunities, other as required.Resource Estimation & Reporting
Oversee and sign-off on preparation and validation of Mineral Resource estimates.Ensure classification (Measured, Indicated, Inferred) is defensible and aligned with data quality and geological confidence.Coordinate independent audits and Qualified Person (QP) sign-offs.Support annual reserve updates in collaboration with mine planning.Data Integrity & QA/QC
Ensure robust drillhole database management and data validation protocols.Review QA/QC programs (standards, blanks, duplicates) and reconciliation processes.Implement regional best practices in sampling theory and bias control.Model Validation & Reconciliation
Lead reconciliation analysis between:Resource model vs. grade control model.
Short-term production vs. long-term model.
Mill head grades vs. modeled grades.
Identify root causes of reconciliation variance and implement corrective actions.Drive continuous improvement in model predictability and risk management.Technology & Systems
Oversee use and optimization of modeling software platforms (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Deswik, Surpac).Evaluate and implement new technologies such as machine learning-assisted domaining or implicit modeling tools.Standardize workflows for model version control and change management.Promote data visualization and reporting dashboards for executive-level communication.Strategic Planning & Studies
Provide geological modeling input into:Scoping, PFS, and FS studies.Life-of-mine planning and pit optimization inputs.Due diligence for acquisitions and technical reviews.Evaluate geological risk in development-stage projects.Support exploration targeting by integrating structural, lithological, and alteration models.Leadership & Capability Development
