A day in the life
RMM success is anchored in executing standard work to manage both proactive and reactive maintenance work orders, remotely triage refrigeration equipment issues, and deep dive trends impacting equipment reliability. The role challenges the RMM to master an array of RME skills usually delegated to onsite RME teams. With no onsite RME, the RMM balances: travel to sites to perform vendor quality audits/inspections and identify unreported opportunities (reliability and safety); virtual management of reactive SIM tickets (reviewing vendor quotes, approving Coupa requisitions, removing barriers to expedite vendor repairs); and project/initiative development and execution (both internal and developed through operations, sustainability and other stakeholders).
About the team
GFC RME is a lean organization with few sites with onsite RME technicians. Successful candidates are highly organized, capable of working independently (with peer/leadership support as needed), crave ownership of both successes and opportunities, and leverage effective interpersonal skills to support operations. With limited internal resources, RMMs are challenged to drive continuous process improvement to the building envelope (facility design, HVAC and refrigeration systems etc) that are vital to maintaining grocery food safety standards and delighting our customers with high quality produce.
