What you'll do Employer: Little Falls Hospital Title: Regional Laboratory Services Supervisor Location: 140 Burwell Street, Little Falls, NY 13365 Job Duties: Provides supervisory direction for Regional Laboratory Services staff. Provides a positive example for others to follow by demonstrating behavior consistent with a high degree of integrity, teamwork, and collaboration. Establishes timely and effective communications to keep staff aware of important information. Is visible and approachable within the department. Assures staffing needs for the department are met. Communicates with Laboratory Leadership on a regular basis to assure vital information is shared. Regularly participates in required meetings. Handles crisis situations professionally. Remains calm under stressful situations and implements solutions to issues that occur. Directs technical and clerical functions and activities of the assigned area, while ensuring adherence to regulations and service to laboratory customers. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of daily work. Monitors workflow on an ongoing basis and adjusts staff accordingly to assure results are timely. Reviews results and documents in accordance with lab procedures and state and federal regulations. Assures all procedures are up to date and that staff are following them. Assures all regulatory standards within area of responsibility are met. Assures completion of training and competency assessment of all staff working in area of responsibility on an annual basis. Assures all staff complete all annual mandatory education, continuing education, and employee health requirements by due date. Assures reagent and supply inventories for area of responsibility are monitored so as not to overstock or exhaust supplies. Initiates purchase requisitions as appropriate. Incorporates the Bassett Leadership Operational System (BLOS) into daily work, including daily huddles, appropriate Performance Improvement monitors and action plans to enhance performance to meet organizational and department AOP objectives. Troubleshoots difficult or unusual instrument or procedural issues and calls for service within the terms of the service contract. Assures timely, active communication with nursing and practitioner colleagues regarding issues or delays that could have a negative impact on care delivery. Gives input and information as requested by manager for budgeting purposes by agreed upon deadlines. Reviews all maintenance, quality control and proficiency test results and records to assure established procedures are followed and the proper functioning of laboratory equipment. Takes appropriate corrective action. Reviews instrument and equipment records on a regular basis to assure all required preventative maintenance has been performed and corrective action is documented. Reviews QC data on an ongoing basis. Assures corrective action for any QC not within established guidelines is completed. Reviews corrective action with appropriate staff members to ensure continued success and proper functioning of equipment in the department. Assures the Proficiency Testing (PT) is completed and submitted on time. Completes an “Investigation of a Discrepancy in a Proficiency Test” for every analyte or test that is deemed incorrect in a timely manner. Writes, implements and monitors compliance with appropriate Plans of Corrections for any deficiencies found during regulatory survey. Shares in routine work and performs unusual or difficult tests and procedures as needed. What we need from you Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. 6 years of Clinical Laboratory experience. Licensure by NYS ED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and weekends as business needs require. 20% domestic travel to Bassett Healthcare Network locations for site visits and inspection of point of care facilities. Salary range for this position is $98,176 to $129,147.20. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $98,176.00/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $129,147.20/Yr.
