Regional Engineering Lead

What this job involves:

Acting as the steward of the engineering services

Singapore Campus Engineering Services: Serving as the backbone of the engineering services across Campus, you will set the team on the right track through ample engineering planning and management. You’ll drive success in terms of functionality and stability by finding new ways to improve the system and making sure that everyone knows where they stand. You need to ensure that team members can efficiently respond to all engineering challenges, at the same time comply with the policies and procedures. You’ll bring out the team player in you to keep all key performances in check.

You will sit at the bottom of a wide range of responsibilities, from managing contracts to keeping the day-to-day operations — including maintaining high-quality operations as your top priority. To achieve this, you’ll work closely with facilities managers to keep the reliability of the systems through planned preventive maintenance programs. You’re in charge of ensuring that service standards are aligned and maintained within firm’s and client’s global, regional, and local engineering policies and procedures.

You will also contribute ideas to the development and implementation of the account’s Innovation Program to reduce utility costs, increase productivity & savings.

AMA East Engineering Services: Manage key clients effectively to ensure that expected service levels are achieved in engineering. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of programs, procedures, and projects

Bringing maximum value through excellent service delivery

Beyond daily maintenance, your ultimate focus is to provide professional, value-focused service that helps us meet—and go beyond—the client’s expectations.

Lending your business acumen, you’ll advise the AMA East client, facilities managers and SG campus team on future maintenance budgets, so you’ll need to be in tuned with the organization’s ins and outs, goals and overall direction. Your expertise in the world of contracts would be incredibly useful, your hands-on experience defining terms and conditions, operational scope and documents for annual maintenance contracts will help you run successful tendering exercises that will help you find the right subcontractors. You’ll also carry out comparative analysis and make recommendations to the client on the most appropriate subcontractors.

It’s your job to develop service level agreements (SLAs) and assist our sourcing colleagues in closing these agreements with vendors. You’ll consider: Is the team deployed by the vendor made up of the right resources—in terms of level and scale—to deliver quality services?

Among the things that you need to stay on top of are whether subcontractors are meeting their commitments on the scheduled delivery of trainings or they have a planned, structured and solution-based approach to maintenance services. Also, you will audit subcontractors on the quality of materials and upkeep of the site.

Playing the role of a strategic operator, you will also craft annual cost-saving goals in energy usage and maintenance operations. You will be leveraging the regional engineering platform to translate ideas and optimizations resulting in cost savings and productivity improvements for the region. You will also coordinate with specialists to ensure compliance to client requirements and regulations.

Managing working relationships—the right way

Your ability to deal with clients, vendors and onsite personnel carries a huge impact on your success as campus engineering lead. Lead by example in demonstrating engineering governance excellence and by achieving maximum client satisfaction. Provide technical advice and guidance for facilities management and project teams as required.

All eyes on the plan

You’ll ensure that all risk mitigation plans are in place. Do such plans comply with our clients’ designated procedures and policies? Are all engineering reports in order? You constantly need to monitor and evaluate all critical environment equipment across the Campus sites to make sure everything is running smoothly as possible. Tracking review reports should also keep you busy, as doing so is instrumental in implementing improvement plans across the sites.

Risks under control

SG Campus Engineering Services: Being an engineering manager also requires you to be on top of your risk management game. Are there any major M&E equipment risks? Is information uploaded into our systems accurate and complies with the audit process? Is the disaster recovery and business continuity planning implemented and reviewed periodically? Are escalation procedures observed? These are just some of the questions that you constantly need to ask yourself as our risk management agent.

AMA East Engineering Services:

•              Ensure alignment and compliance to established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the management of the client’s Critical Environment (CEM)

•              Contribute to achieving account glidepath savings, HX, innovation, and sustainability targets

Managing the team

SG Campus Engineering Services:  You’ll oversee all engineering-related trainings of staff members, as well as ensure their compliance to necessary licenses and certifications. Besides these, you will train team members on all quality policies and procedures.
