Hexcel is currently seeking a Regional Continuous Improvement Manager for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA location.
This position can also be located in Casa Grande, AZ, Decatur, AL, or Pottsville, PA. The purpose of this role is to develop, communicate, and drive Continuous Improvement strategy across Americas Business Team, gain alignment and establish a roadmap to integrate CI efforts with Future Factory, R&T, IT, EHS, Supply Chain and other functional groups and ensure best practices are shared and leveraged across Hexcel.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Develop and implement CI strategy across Americas Business Team to support achievement of annual safety, quality, sustainability and financial targets. Manage 6 Sigma and Lean training program and coach network of Green Belt and Black Belts. Provide oversight and guidance to site CI Leaders to ensure CI activities are initiated, planned, conducted, and concluded effectively. Foster a continuous improvement culture through mentorship and teaching.Implement CI strategy by guiding application of CI tools/approach.Coordinate quarterly review meetings and share best practices appropriately.Align with Operations and Finance to standardize and utilize CI metrics to track, assess and adjust the CI strategy.Facilitate Zero Loss Analysis activities to identify cost down opportunities in collaboration with product management. Elevate strategic CI Projects for appropriate decision-making where customer support/approvals, capital expenditure, or qualification costs are required and/or trade-offs are required across the Hexcel value chain. Drive prioritization of capital projects supporting the CI Strategy.Partner with Future Factory project leadership to identify and evaluate new technologies and processes.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or scientific discipline, with Lean and/or 6 Sigma certification.10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations or supply chain within highly regulated industries, with a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence.7+ years of hands-on Continuous Improvement expertise, including at least 5 years leading and executing projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies, with practical application of tools such as value-stream mapping, SMED, and visual management.Ability to lead through influence by employing excellent interpersonal, listening skills with ability to articulate clearly to all interested parties utilizing a balanced and constructive approach.Strong persuasive and negotiation skills in dealing with both internal, and external parties.Proven skills in project management.Experience with Quality Management Systems processes and requirements, preferably AS 9100. Ability to use good judgement when required to lead to a decision.Willingness to travel up as required to accomplish goals, up to 40%.Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
