How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Supply Management (GSM) is responsible for helping AMEX maximize the purchasing power of third party spend. Strategic Sourcing & Business Enablement (SS&BE) is GSM’s face to AXP colleagues and suppliers. We provide strategic consultation, bringing global value perspective, negotiation, and delivery to maximize purchasing power of supplier spend and to free up investment capacity through deeper partnerships with our Business Partners. SS&BE is also responsible for managing our supplier strategy with our business partners, identifying and on-boarding new suppliers, realizing significant cost saves, contract negotiation and execution.
This role is based in Mexico City and reports into the Director SS&BE Canada, Latin America and Caribbean.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of strategic sourcing experience with strong project and financial management skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Proven leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities to drive complex sourcing initiatives and business change.
Skilled in translating complex business needs into actionable strategies while adapting to evolving and unstructured environments.
Proficient with eProcurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Oracle, Bridger) and knowledgeable of local supply chain regulations; Bachelor’s degree required, advanced qualifications preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Category management, strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, balanced with proven track record of delivering tangible results in complex, global and matrix work environment
Understanding of internal business and external environment, knowledge of financial services industry is a plus.
Proven experience in thought leadership to overcome challenges and lead without direct authority, ability to develop and influence team members.
Excellent relationship management and communication skills with ability to collaborate and influence internally, across markets and with suppliers.
Strong project management skills and financial management experience including development of CBAs, presentations and financial models.
Must be an independent self-starter and have proven ability to drive results and prioritize work activitie
A bachelor’s degree (business management, business administration, finance, Industrial engineering or similar)
