Packaging Expert – Europe Focused (with Global Influence) We are looking for a highly driven and technically skilled Packaging Expert to lead structural packaging changes across Europe, while influencing and collaborating with teams across the Americas region. This role requires a strong packaging engineering background and a practical, hands-on approach to design, testing, and implementation. While procurement experience is a plus, deep expertise in packaging design and technology is essential. The ideal candidate will be both technically strong and a natural collaborator, capable of driving initiatives independently while engaging cross-functional teams to deliver impact packaging improvements. Key Responsibilities: · Identify, lead, and execute packaging improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, material optimization, and structural redesign · Propose innovative packaging concepts and solutions aligned with business and operational needs · Design packaging solutions and support technical drawings and documentation · Conduct and oversee packaging validation testing on-site and/or in coordination with internal teams and suppliers · Influence packaging strategies globally by collaborating with stakeholders in the Americas region · Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams · Contribute to the development and standardization of packaging specifications and testing protocols · Support packaging-related negotiations with suppliers and technical partners Required Qualifications: · Degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Technology, Materials Science, or a related field · Strong experience in packaging design, testing, and technical validation · Self-driven and analytical, with excellent problem-solving capabilities · Solid understanding of packaging materials, structural design, and regulatory requirements · Experience with negotiation, supplier engagement, and cross-functional project execution · Prior exposure to procurement or cost optimization projects is a plus · Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and to key sites in the Americas Key Soft Skills: · Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others across functions and regions · Excellent teamwork and collaboration mindset · Comfortable working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders · Clear, concise communicator with the ability to adapt messaging to technical and non-technical audiences · Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of initiatives from concept to execution **\#LI-Hybrid** Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
