Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Assisting supervisor to ensure bidding procedures are followed in compliance with procurement goalsCommunicating with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery scheduleMonitoring inventories for shortages and overstocks and keeps supervisor and others with a need to know, such as inventory control/warehouse management staff and those affected, informedAssisting in the communication and disposal of overstock itemsEnsuring quality and quantity of received goods compared to purchase order and takes action, if necessaryCommunicating regularly with supervisor, and internal customersFocusing on continuous improvement of quality assets and servicesManaging and maintaining product sourcing and bid searchingAssisting in cost control and savings programEnsuring that all products are transferred correctly, and documentation is maintained using departmental software systemOverseeing and maintaining the software system item database and all ordering formsParticipating in continuing product and systems trainingsCommunicating all pertinent information to supervisor and the internal customersPerforming other job-related duties as assignedEnsures the financial delivery of the agreed upon savings goals to be established for each functional area within procurement.Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to the Regional director of Procurement. High school or GED AND three (3) years buying, expediting, and other directly related purchasing and hospitality experience requiredAssociates degree in related field, preferredKnowledge of purchasing practices and proceduresKnowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in area of specializationSkill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications, bids, and proposalsComputer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software and Stratton Warren procurement and inventory softwarePossess excellent listening skillsAble to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsSkill in exercising independent judgment and initiativeAbility to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendorsAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing and follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to effectively handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously, work effectively in a fast paced, pressure-filled environment and be self-motivated and detail orientedAbility to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful mannerAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the positionAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodationMust be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed STAY IN THE GAME.
