Regional Bid Management Manager (Siemens Mobility)

Siemens Mobility Latin America is looking for a Regional Bid Management Manager for our region.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring the successful preparation, submission, and tracking of bids and proposals for rail projects. This role manages Bid Management team and requires a technical understanding of the rail components, operations overview, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality bids.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Responsible for the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting bids for various projects. This involves a thorough understanding of customer requirements, project specifications, and industry standards and accomplish with all internal procedures and processes to approve an offer. People Management: leads the Bid Management team, providing coaching, guidance and effective support individual and team development. Proactive involvement in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the quality and cost effectiveness, system compliance and success of all bid submissions. Bid Development: Understand the technical and commercial requirements of the project and align with headquarter and Business Units as needed. Bid Coordination and Management: Lead and manage the bid process, coordinating with internal stakeholders (engineering, finance, procurement, etc.) and external partners/subcontractors to gather necessary information and ensure timely submission of bids. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with bids, ensuring all submissions are in line with regulatory, safety, and quality standards specific to the rail industry. Client Relationship Management: work closely with Sales team and Countries’ CEOs to understand needs, and tailor bids to address their specific requirements. Attend meetings, presentations, and negotiations as needed.

To thrive in this role, you have:

Have knowledge and experience with the Rail Technologies linked with rail electrification (substations, catenary, rectifiers…), signaling systems, rolling stock and SW applications. Has knowledge of developing and contributing product cost analysis and pricing models. Is a results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and maintains a calm approach when operating under pressure. Can successfully pivots from proposal to proposal to meet deadlines to ensure on-time submission of a compliant and compelling bid. The Head of Bid will be assigning and delegating multiple tasks daily. Network and communicate with colleagues across businesses. Will work in an international team and should have a high degree of cultural awareness. Demonstrate the ability to work with technical concepts. Has a curiosity and a desire to learn about new technologies and processes. Takes initiative to learn our product portfolio, components, and part numbers. Has the ability to thrive with limited structure. Innovative thinking, problem solving, and demonstrate team collaboration and influencing skills. Strong follow-through and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to complete job responsibilities working within different time zone as needed such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs. Can develop project schedules as needed with limited information. Have experience working with tactical and strategic purchasing.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience (10+ years) in a bid management role within the rail industry or similar sectors. Leadership experience is desirable. In-depth knowledge of rail technologies, regulations, and market trends. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously. Excellent communication and writing skills to create technically sound proposals. Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong decision-making skills.English, Portuguese and Spanish proficiency are required. Proficiency in MS Office. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
