If you take pride in your technical skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, professional hospitality environment, this role is for you. **Position Overview** The **Refrigeration Technician** plays a critical role in supporting hotel operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial kitchen and food-service equipment across the property. This position focuses primarily on **commercial refrigeration systems** , including walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and beverage equipment, while also assisting with other engineering-related equipment and projects as assigned. You will work independently as well as collaboratively with the Engineering team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance that supports our culinary and guest-service operations. **Key Responsibilities** + Maintain, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment(walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, beverage systems, etc.) + Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues using schematics and technical documentation + Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life + Ensure all work complies with safety standards, hotel policies, and regulatory requirements + Respond to equipment service calls in a timely and professional manner + Maintain accurate service records and work orders using handheld/mobile systems + Support additional Engineering projects and equipment as business needs require **Qualifications:** **Required Qualifications** + **EPA Universal Certification / Universal CFC Certification** + Prior experience with **commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment** + Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills + Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals + Comfortable working independently and managing daily priorities + Ability to work in tight or compact spaces and around active kitchen environments + Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld maintenance devices + Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA and industry best practices **Preferred Qualifications** + HVAC or Refrigeration Trade School completion (or equivalent hands-on experience) + **OSHA 10 Certification** + Previous hotel, hospital, airport, or large-facility engineering experience **Physical & Work Environment Requirements** + Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy equipment + Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or mechanical spaces + Awareness and application of safety procedures to prevent injury and equipment damage **Why Work at Hyatt?** At Hyatt, hospitality is more than a job — it’s a career for people who care.
