**Job Title: Refrigeration Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling equipment such as condenser units, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment. You will install and maintain temperature control systems, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation, and air distribution equipment. Your role includes reading gauges and instruments, adjusting mechanisms to control fluid pressure and distribution, and operating various refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines.
**Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment such as condenser units, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, and other mechanical equipment.
+ Install and maintain temperature control systems, electric valves, heat transfer equipment, ventilation, and air distribution equipment.
+ Install and replace all types of pumps or refrigeration equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams, or other instructions.
+ Read gauges and instruments, adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control fluid pressure and distribution in systems.
+ Operate various refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines.
+ Solder with sil-fos and silver solder, layout, and fit piping.
+ Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.
+ Maintain air make-up systems, chillers, evaporators, and drain lines.
+ Order parts and materials for repairs and maintain refrigeration stock.
+ Perform planned maintenance, regular servicing, and repairs to refrigeration equipment of all types, sizes, and temperature ranges.
+ Initiate continuous improvement activities pertaining to facility power systems (refrigeration, steam, water).
+ Assist in maintaining, installing, operating, and repairing boiler and pressure systems.
+ Detect defects and assist in initiating repairs before major breakdowns occur.
+ Follow and enforce plant-wide and equipment safety rules/procedures.
+ Maintain records of repairs or equipment requiring future service.
+ Coordinate work with maintenance planner.
+ Submit Daily Activity Sheet and invoices.
+ Ensure regular and reliable transportation and attendance.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
+ Standing and walking for continuous periods, including 8–12-hour shifts.
+ Ability to bend, lift, and twist.
+ Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc.
+ Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
+ Computer literacy and familiarity with associated software programs.
+ Ability to read equipment operations manuals.
+ Ability to participate in job development training, such as troubleshooting.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Completion of a two-year technical college degree program for industrial refrigeration maintenance or Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
+ Working knowledge of freon, boilers, compressors, motors, pumps, sheet metal, grease, oil, and belt applications.
+ Self-motivation and ability to make decisions and communicate these with departmental supervisors.
+ Basic knowledge of plant electrical AC/DC power and control systems.
+ Precision welding skills meeting food plant sanitary standards using MIG wire-feed and heli-arc on stainless steel applications.
+ Ability to perform precision cutting using a plasma torch.
+ Ability to perform routine preventative/proactive maintenance activities.
+ Basic knowledge of equipment technical manuals operating and safety procedures.
+ Ability to use CMMS program (MP2) for maintenance activities and work order completion.

The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $145600.00/yr.
