Refrigeration Mechanic
**Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic** Location: Manufacturing Facility Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) Starting Pay: $27.00+ per hour (based on experience) Shift Differential: + $0.75/hour (3 PM – 10 PM) + $1.50/hour (10 PM – 8 AM) **Position Summary** The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventative upkeep of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. This includes working with ammonia compressors, boilers, and other facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. **Key Responsibilities** + Inspect and maintain refrigeration systems including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and safety valves. + Perform repairs and overhauls on malfunctioning equipment. + Monitor and maintain boiler systems and water treatment levels. + Install and replace motors, pumps, switches, solenoids, and fuses. + Conduct basic refrigeration tasks such as pressure checks, PSM data entry, and spiral freezer belt operations. + Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and major repairs or installations. + Maintain clean and safe work areas and tools. + Participate in HAZMAT and OSHA-required training. + Use PPE and follow all safety protocols including LOTO, confined space, respiratory and fall protection. **Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2-year technical degree preferred. + RETA Certification required or ability to obtain. + Basic mechanical, electrical, and maintenance knowledge. + Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents. + Math proficiency for measurements and calculations. + Ability to lift up to 90 lbs. + Must qualify for HAZMAT certification and obtain boiler and forklift licenses. + Ability to wear APR and/or SCBA respirators. + Basic computer skills including SAP Maintenance Module. + Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with OSHA regulations. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
