Refrigeration Maintenance Technician III- 2nd Shift
Shift for this position can be 2nd shift: Su-Thu 2p- 10p OR Tu-Sat 2p- 10p ( Overtime and on-call required as needed, with rotating weekly coverage. Must be available to work weekends and holidays in a 24/7 operation) We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician with strong ammonia refrigeration experience to help keep our facility running safely and efficiently. In this role, you’ll take on a wide variety of maintenance responsibilities—including refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and building systems—while working with a team that values safety, collaboration, and technical expertise. **What You’ll Do** + Install, maintain, and repair **ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂ refrigeration systems** , ensuring they operate safely and meet design specifications. + Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on **electrical systems, building infrastructure, plumbing, and material handling equipment (MHE)** . + Troubleshoot equipment and complete work orders, logging all details in our CMMS system. + Conduct inspections, testing, and reporting to keep leadership informed of equipment status. + Support contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. + Use motorized lifts and other tools for inspections, calibrations, and repairs. **What We’re Looking For** + **2+ years of hands-on ammonia refrigeration experience** (Freon and/or CO₂ also valued). + **Certifications such as CARO or Refrigeration Operator I** (or willingness to complete within 6 months). + 3+ years of mechanical experience in warehouse, processing, or manufacturing environments (trade school experience counts). + Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. + Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, CMMS). + Clear verbal and written communication skills to share technical updates with all levels of the team. **What You Should Know** + Flexibility is key—this role may require **overtime and on-call shifts** as needed. + You’ll work in a variety of environments: from **cold storage (-20°F)** to **dry storage (up to 100°F)** with company-provided PPE. + Must be able to lift 40+ lbs.
