When we do everything in service of our patients and caregivers, no detail gets ignored. On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment — just like our patients have come to expect. You’ll gain experience working on a wide range of projects and HVAC systems throughout our facilities, train with the newest technology and receive guidance from fellow caregivers and management.   

 

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—3:30pm with rotational weekends and holiday requirements.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.  

Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.  

Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.  

Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

High school diploma or GED 

State of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I and Type II or Universal Refrigerant Systems Service  

Three years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilities man, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be considered  

Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to 1 year of experience  

Can read electric schematic diagrams  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training program 

Work experience in a hospital setting

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching and climbing ladders.

Requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.

Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
