At Independence Hall, we provide client-centered care and recovery-oriented treatment within a therapeutic environment. We are seeking passionate and innovative individuals to join our behavioral health programming.\n

Veterans Inc. is seeking a Referral Specialist who will be a key member of the Veterans Inc. Admissions team. This position provides administrative and clerical support in the areas of pre-admission, admission, discharge, and billing. Duties will include, but not be limited to, referral and admissions coordination, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, insurance verification, and client intakes. The position must exemplify the core values and mission of the organization by exercising discretion, diplomacy, and tact in interactions with patients, staff, and external agencies.\n

The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. \n

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:\n\nProvide customer service to referrals and patients, adhering to the organization's policies and HIPAA requirements, while maintaining confidentiality and privacy protocols. \nReceives and screens referrals via telephonic, fax, and online. Collaborates with the admissions manager to approve new patients for both inpatient and outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services.\nCoordinates scheduling needs of new intakes for admittance into program(s).\nWorks collaboratively with internal and external referral sources and programs to maintain Treatment Center referral for services. \nCollaboration with Clinical and Admissions Teams: Collaborating with clinical and admissions teams to review referrals, discuss patient needs, and coordinate care plans before admissions.\nScheduling and Logistics: Maintain an up-to-date wait list and coordinate admission times to ensure a smooth intake process.\nFollow-up and Monitoring: Follow up with referring agencies and patients (if necessary) to confirm receipt of referrals, address any questions, and provide updates on the status, including waitlist management.\nInforms patients of any outstanding co-pay balance as addressed by the organization's finance department. \nServe as a backup for reception and assist with the intake process.\n\n

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nMinimum of high school diploma or equivalent, with six (6) months of medical receptionist\/office experience in comparable health care setting required. \nMinimum of two (2) years of administrative or clerical experience in clinical or community-based setting highly preferred.\nBasic to intermediate computer knowledge and skills.\nKnowledge and skilled at use of Electronic Health Records, Insurance Payor portals, Microsoft excel and other medical office applications.\nMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between Worcester and Shrewsbury.\nMust be able to successfully pass a CORI\/Background records check.\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
