Job Title: Reference Financial Data Analyst

Job Description

As a Reference Data Analyst, you will be responsible for executing the daily workflows to maintain the integrity of the security master file. You will collect, research, monitor, and review complex security and market data, recommending changes and escalating discrepancies for resolution. This role involves managing and executing requests through work queues to provide timely, accurate, and thorough support for complex and routine reference data inquiries. You will perform daily data validation to ensure the integrity and consistency of data across multiple platforms, and review and verify work with strong adherence to procedures and controls. You will lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements and contribute to departmental and firm-wide projects and initiatives. The role generally operates with independence and requires discretion in troubleshooting exceptions.

Responsibilities

Maintain security master file integrity by executing daily workflows.Collect, research, monitor, and review complex security and market data.Recommend changes and escalate discrepancies for resolution.Manage and execute requests through work queues for timely, accurate support.Perform daily data validation ensuring data integrity and consistency.Review and verify work daily adhering to procedures and controls.Lead process improvement efforts.Contribute to departmental and firm-wide projects and initiatives.Operate with independence and troubleshoot exceptions.

Essential Skills

Data analysis and data entry proficiency.Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.1-3 years of work experience in a related field.Aptitude for numbers and quantitative proficiency.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.Strong decision-making, organization, and communication skills.Excellent client service orientation with a client-first mentality.Strong follow-up skills and flexibility.Time-management, problem-resolution, and research skills.Experience with MS Office applications, especially Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Demonstrated analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.Ability to meet tight deadlines efficiently.Experience in escalating issues as necessary.Ability to work in an office location.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a requirement to be on-site five days a week. Initial training hours are from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm EST. Once fully trained, the schedule rotates between 10:00 am – 6:15/6:30 pm and 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This process runs daily, even on holidays, typically ending around 6:30/7:00 pm EST.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $28.84/hr.
