Job Description
The Manufacturing Recruiter (Temporary) plays a key role in attracting and hiring top talent across a broad range of roles, from entry-level manufacturing operators to technical sales and engineering professionals. This full-time, onsite position in San Diego, CA focuses on full-cycle recruiting, proactive sourcing, and strong partnerships with hiring managers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role offers meaningful autonomy, broad visibility on a lean talent acquisition team, and the opportunity to build valuable experience in technical and manufacturing recruitment.
Responsibilities
Partner closely with hiring managers and site leadership to understand staffing needs and develop effective, role-specific hiring strategies.Own the full recruitment lifecycle from initial hiring manager intake through offer acceptance and handoff to onboarding.Conduct thorough intake meetings to clarify position requirements, success profiles, timelines, and sourcing strategies for each requisition.Actively source candidates from day one using tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, job boards, networking, and hiring events to attract both passive and active talent.Manage a high-volume requisition load of approximately 15–20 open roles at a time while maintaining organization and clear priorities.Screen resumes and conduct structured phone screens and interviews to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit for manufacturing, technical, and professional roles.Guide candidates through each stage of the process, providing timely communication, clear expectations, and a positive candidate experience.Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and interview panels, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.Occasionally coordinate candidate travel for onsite interviews, including logistics and itinerary details.Sit in on interviews as needed to support and coach hiring managers on interview best practices and candidate evaluation.Discuss compensation expectations with candidates and collaborate with hiring managers using basic compensation analysis and benchmarking to support competitive offers.Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and requisition data in recruitment software and HRIS systems, with particular emphasis on detail and data integrity.Stay current on manufacturing and technical recruiting best practices, labor market trends, and workforce dynamics to continuously improve sourcing and selection strategies.Ensure recruiting practices align with employment laws and compliance requirements, including export control regulations when applicable.Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing and future hiring needs.Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Adapt to changing priorities and business needs, taking on additional duties or adjusting responsibilities as required.Essential Skills
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, preferably supporting manufacturing, engineering, or other technical roles.Proven ability to independently manage the entire recruitment process from hiring manager intake through offer acceptance.Demonstrated experience actively sourcing candidates via platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.Comfort and effectiveness in managing a high-volume workload of approximately 15–20 requisitions simultaneously.Strong communication skills, including clear and professional verbal and written communication with candidates and hiring managers.Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders.High level of detail orientation, with the ability to describe and execute a structured, step-by-step recruiting process.Familiarity with recruitment software and HRIS systems, with a preference for experience using UKG.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Solid understanding of employment laws and compliance practices relevant to recruiting and hiring.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.High school diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.Experience recruiting in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly beneficial.background in technical recruiting, including engineering or technical sales roles, is a strong plus.Experience conducting basic compensation analysis and benchmarking to support informed discussions with hiring managers and candidates.Ability to confidently coach and support hiring managers during interviews, including advising on interview structure and candidate evaluation.Experience coordinating candidate travel and onsite interview logistics.Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish or Japanese, are a plus.Eligibility under U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR) as a U.S. person as defined by applicable regulations.Genuine interest in building or expanding experience in technical and manufacturing recruitment.Motivation and commitment to succeed in a temporary role with potential for extended duration based on business needs.Work Environment
This role is based fully onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in San Diego, CA, working 40 hours per week. You will be part of a small, lean talent acquisition team that supports a broad range of positions, from entry-level operators on the production floor to engineers and technical sales professionals. The environment expects a high degree of autonomy and self-direction from day one, with the flexibility to manage your own workload and priorities while maintaining strong collaboration with hiring managers and leadership. You will use modern recruitment tools, including job boards, LinkedIn Recruiter, HRIS and applicant tracking systems, and the Microsoft Office suite to manage requisitions and candidate pipelines. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
