Scope of Role: The Recreation Manager oversees the totality of the resort’s leisure and experiential landscape: Pool Beach, Camp Hyatt, Fitness Activities, and Wellness Integration, ensuring that each environment reflects thoughtful design, refined service, and an authentic sense of place. This role works in close collaboration with SOMA Wellbeing, Sustainability, and Guest Experience teams to deliver programming that engages guests emotionally, physically, and culturally.

Leadership Operations
Lead all daily operations for Pool, Beach, Fitness, Camp Hyatt, and Recreational Activities, ensuring a seamless and safe guest experience.Supervise and develop the Recreation, Lifeguard, and Camp Hyatt teams, fostering motivation, technical skill, and attentiveness.Ensure all facilities are impeccably maintained, presented, and operated in alignment with safety and brand standards.Oversee guest scheduling, staffing plans, and activity logistics to balance service excellence with operational efficiency.Maintain Forbes-aligned presentation, service rituals, and interaction standards across all recreation touchpoints.
Programming Experience Design
Curate and implement the Resort Programming Framework, aligned with the pillars of Facility, Tides, Nature, and Tradition.Develop and deliver programs that are commercially viable yet experientially rich—ranging from sunrise wellness sessions to family twilight gatherings.Collaborate with Sustainability and SOMA Wellbeing teams to integrate environmental education, conservation, and local culture into guest experiences.Lead seasonal, ceremonial, and bespoke events that enhance the emotional connection between guests and the resort’s natural surroundings.Monitor guest satisfaction and continuously evolve programming based on engagement and feedback data.
People Culture
Serve as a mentor to all recreation colleagues, guiding them toward confidence, composure, and creativity in guest interaction.Partner with the Assistant Learning Manager to design learning journeys specific to recreation disciplines.Foster a culture of care, safety, and belonging across the teams, ensuring colleagues embody Park Hyatt’s DNA.
Safety Sustainability
Ensure all safety, hygiene, and lifeguard protocols are strictly implemented and regularly audited.Partner with Engineering and Sustainability to maintain eco-conscious operations, including energy use, water conservation, and materials management.Support the implementation of the Verified Responsible Hospitality sustainability program and related community initiatives.
Administration Financials
Oversee departmental budgeting, cost management, and revenue generation from activities and programs.Maintain accurate records of attendance, training, certifications, and equipment maintenance.Prepare regular performance reports, highlighting engagement trends and improvement opportunities.
