The Recreation Lead plays a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the Recreation Department, including Fitness and/or Aquatics areas. In the absence of a supervisor, the Recreation Lead assists the supervisor on duty and ensures the smooth operation of all activities. This role upholds the highest standards of safety, service, and professionalism while supervising on-duty personnel, resolving operational issues, and making independent decisions in accordance with property and departmental policies and procedures.
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience in hospitality or a related field required. Previous experience in leading a team preferred. CPR certification preferred.Physical requirements:
Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Weekend, holiday and evening hours may be required. Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Able to be on feet for majority of shift.Fundamental Requirements:

Assign tasks and guide staff to support efficient, high-quality service across all recreation areas. Enforce safety guidelines and maintain compliance with departmental and property-wide procedures. Provide leadership and support to staff to ensure consistent and high-quality guest service. Support supervisors in training new team members, helping to instill department protocols and service expectations. Address any problems experienced in the facility with awareness, sincere concern, apologies and offers an appropriate remedy and follow up as applicable. Handle guest concerns and incidents efficiently, ensuring timely follow-up and escalating unresolved matters or special requests to the supervisor on duty as needed Monitor cleanliness, functionality, and organization of recreational facilities and equipment. Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling assistance and incident documentation. Be thoroughly familiar with and provide instruction on departmental software. Must be able to cross-train in both Fitness and Aquatics centers.General Requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. Attend all required meetings and trainings. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with property standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the operation. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Must be able to cross-train in other related areas. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.Perform other duties as requested by management.
