Position Summary
The Recreation Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of a meaningful and engaging recreation program that meets the physical, mental, cultural, spiritual, emotional, and psychosocial needs of each resident. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
The Smoke Aide supervises residents who participate in scheduled smoking times, ensuring full compliance with the facility’s smoking policies. This role works closely with the Recreation Department and assists with Recreation Assistant duties as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including activity rooms and common areas.
Manage time, projects, and documentation efficiently.
Attend and actively participate in required meetings.
Complete all mandatory training within required timeframes.
Assist with new‑hire orientation, staff training, in‑services, and departmental meetings as needed.
Participate in the department’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and support resolution of identified issues.
Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or safety concerns to management immediately.
Recognize and report abnormal signs or symptoms that may indicate a change in a resident’s condition; notify the charge nurse promptly.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the healthcare center.
