Summary This position is located at Birch Ski Hill and Snowboard Area on Fort Wainwright, AK. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Responsibilities Works as a Recreation Assistant (Ski/Snowboard Instructor) instructing groups and individuals and children using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to students who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Assists with program registration, equipment issue, ski lift, and cleaning duties. Is responsible for ticket handling for groups of students and must maintain good internal control practices to keep track of these tickets. May be involved in designing, building and maintaining the snowboarding course, by building jumps and installing rails, using hand tools. Works with the maintenance crew by coordinating the work that needs to be done, such as, the snow grooming machines; jumps and rails are placed in the right spots; and the course is maintained and safe for customer use at all times. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must be an advanced skier/snowboarder with the ability to teach others (must be supported by application package), 2. Must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification within 6 months of hire. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1.
