Job DescriptionAssist the smooth running of Recreations on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction.Create new, unique and interesting recreation activities that draw upon the best cultural, sporting or other offerings of the area in which the hotel is located.  To continually be positioning the sports and leisure offering as a differentiator and a point of competitive advantage for the hotel. Ensure outsourced service provides are of good quality.To have a complete knowledge of the products and services offered by the hotelTo lead the implementation of all health and safety codes in the sports and leisure activities of the hotel.Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment using proper safety techniques.Train and assist in the evaluation of attendants who work with fitness programs.  Supervise instructors and all other team members helping with any activities or functions arranged via Recreations.Use qualified attendants in all areas where relevant qualifications are required, i.e. Gym attendant, Activities attendant, Lifeguard.Monitor the success of the activity’s programs through the number of participants per scheduled event and through guests’ feedback.  Make necessary adjustments to maintain top quality, fun filled and original programs for hotel guests.Prepare and circulate clear information to guests of the events offered by the hotel in conjunction with the Anantara Front Office.Assist in maintaining clean and well maintained all equipment in gym area, water sports and in-house activities.In the gym, provide guests and members with skills, knowledge, and motivation to achieve and maintain exercise related fitness goal.In the gym, develop and maintain a file system to ensure record of guests’ information for proper follow-up on fitness goal progress.Develop and maintain a strong working environment with the other departments.Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed when collecting of charging fees for Fitness & RecreationsBe prepared to assume other Recreations duties or responsibilities as requested by management.Drive revenues of the department.

Qualifications

Experience minimum 2-3 years in same field
Watersports Knowledge and in practical
Lifeguard certificate
Basic Admin Skills

Additional InformationPrompt and courteous delivery of all orders, maintaining a positive image through all each guest contact and through cleanliness of guest areas.Assure total guest satisfaction in the service of food and beverage through the supervision of prompt and courteous delivery of all Restaurants and Room Service ordersDuring shift, ensure that guests are satisfied by assisting with serving, seating, communication with kitchen, and by striving to speak to all guests.Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well trained staffOpen and close shift in accordance with Manager’s Checklist.Train, maintain and enforce all Anantara Service StandardsProperly execute revenue and check control procedures on shiftMaintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all Associates and guestsGather and implement all proper tools for running shifts (i.e. schedules, floor plans, reservations, checks)Find solutions for problems such as call outs, last minute bookings, or any other daily problems that may arise.Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverageEnsure that only a quality product is being servedMaintain proper Associate uniform standardsManage an effective repair and maintenance program through the use of work orders, inspections, etc.Exercise station rotation to ensure stations are distributed fairly.  Handle daily Associate relations (i.e. scheduling, time adjustments, etc.)Assist any Associate in his/her job performance, when required, to ensure guest satisfaction.  Assist in implementing an effective training program for new and current associatesEncourage problem solving by Associates through proper training and empowerment, to ensure guest satisfaction.Establish effective communication with Associates to gain their trust and respect through his/her hard work.  Maintain fair and consistent counseling and/or disciplinary procedures in accordance with Anantara’s Guarantee of Fair Treatment PolicyIdentify and recommend incentive programs, new ideas, and methods of operation
