Recovery Support Worker

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under the supervision of the IMH and Family Services Coordinator, the Family Support Worker will engage women
who have participated in the Women’s Way program (residential and outpatient), including those that leave Women’s
Way prior to completion to support ongoing activities that support family recovery. The Family Support Worker will
provide person centered case management services such as referrals, transportation and utilizing community resources
as well as daily living skills coaching and family engagement group facilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum of a High school diploma with at least 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health field. Associate’s
degree in human service field preferred. Must have a driver's license and ability to do outreach / home visits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Engages families who leave Women’s Way residential treatment in recovery support activities such as:
• Supporting continued infant mental health and family support services through FTS or other family
strengthening programs
• Reestablishing family connections to sponsor/sober support and additional healthy, recovery
relationships
• Connecting families to 12 step meetings, support groups, spiritual fellowships etc.
• Identifying with the client their family goals, anticipating and addressing stressors that might lead to
family distress and pose as an obstacle for achieving their family goals
• Establishing connections for families to additional therapy services, medical care, substance use
treatment, housing, childcare and any other services that would support family stability.
• Utilizes harm reduction, motivational counseling and person-centered principles in work with families.
• Transports clients to critical appointments
• Participates in outreach / homevisiting services along with the Intake and Admissions Outreach Worker, to
assist with family and recovery services for individuals awaiting admission into treatment.
• Facilitates outpatient and residential psychoeducational classes as needed to build professional relationships
with residents of Women’s Way.
• Maintains program data and submits monthly program reports to Administration in accordance with contract
requirements.
• Participates in quarterly quality review of records and maintains timely, accurate client documentation while
following any quality improvement corrective action plans.

Additional Employee Responsibilities at FTS:

Responsible for regular attendance and notification of any absences (at least 3 hours prior to start of shift) or requests to flex schedule (allowed only after proper approval received). Use of TSA approved communication devices only (i.e. work email and work phone numbers). Timely response (within 24 business hours) to calls/texts/emails is expected. Correctly and promptly follow specified agency procedures required for the appropriate handling of all Emergency Response Codes. Participate in mandatory FTS trainings and quarterly staff meetings to keep updated with best practices and agency news. Complete an annual health evaluation and TB clearances (per OHCA licensing regulations) and any other additional contract or licensing related employee requirements. Provide completed documentation to Administration. Maintains work area in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner.

Perform other related duties as may be required or assigned to meet program needs.
