Job SummaryWe are seeking a Reconditioner (Recon Technician) to support our Used Car Sales department by enhancing vehicle appearance and ensuring vehicles are frontline-ready quickly and consistently. This hands-on role focuses on paintless dent repair (PDR), cosmetic touch-ups, and light appearance repairs while working closely with our sales, service, and detail teams.
Responsibilities- Perform paintless dent repair (PDR) on used vehicles.
- Complete paint touch-ups, chip repair, and minor cosmetic corrections.
- Assist with wheel touch-ups, trim repair, and other light cosmetic reconditioning.
- Partner with the Used Car Manager and Fixed Operations Manager to prioritize reconditioning workflow.
- Ensure vehicles meet frontline standards before being listed or displayed.
- Identify cosmetic issues and recommend cost-effective repair solutions.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and tools.
- Support overall recon flow to reduce days-to-sale.
- Perform interior and exterior cleaning using appropriate supplies and equipment.
- Apply polishes, waxes, conditioners, and masking materials to preserve and restore surfaces.
- Maintain supply inventory and monitor equipment for proper operation.
- Inspect vehicles, tools, and equipment for cleanliness and damage.
Qualifications
- Experience with PDR and cosmetic reconditioning preferred.
- Prior automotive recon, body shop, or detailing experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicles, including manual and automatic transmissions.
