Description We are looking for a meticulous and courteous Receptionist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring smooth communication and efficient handling of inquiries. This position is ideal for someone who excels at managing multi-line phone systems and is committed to delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities: • Operate and manage a multi-line switchboard to answer and direct incoming calls promptly. • Greet visitors warmly and ensure they are directed to the appropriate personnel or department. • Process and organize incoming documents submitted by the public with accuracy and efficiency. • Maintain a welcoming and organized reception area. • Provide general administrative support as needed, including handling inquiries and relaying messages. • Ensure all phone interactions are handled with professionalism and courtesy. • Coordinate with team members to address any urgent or complex inquiries. • Uphold confidentiality and follow organizational policies when handling sensitive information. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist or similar role. • Proficiency in operating multi-line phone systems, including switchboards handling 1-10 lines. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to manage inbound calls effectively and direct inquiries appropriately. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. • Customer service-oriented with a friendly and detail-focused demeanor. • Familiarity with basic administrative tasks and office procedures.
