This position is responsible for overseeing daily receiving operations, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The Receiving Lead Person provides direction and training to team members, performs ERP transactions, and occasionally steps in for the Supervisor to ensure uninterrupted operations. This role requires commitment to teamwork, accountability, and Watts’ values while supporting our mission to protect the world’s most valuable resource: water.This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities + Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area. + Lead and coordinate daily receiving activities to meet production and inventory schedules. + Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. + Perform accurate inventory, receiving, and other transactions and reports in the ERP system. + Conduct and lead daily Gemba walks and meetings to promote continuous improvement and team engagement. + Ensure all receiving documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. + Train and mentor receiving team members on procedures, safety, and best practices. + Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors. + Address and resolve receiving discrepancies (e.g., damaged goods, incorrect quantities). + Communicate with purchasing or supply chain teams as needed. + Schedule and coordinate inbound deliveries with carriers. + Review and prioritize incoming shipments to support production and inventory accuracy. + Track daily receipts and resolve delays or issues to meet operational goals. + Fill in for the Supervisor as needed, including decision-making and team oversight. Required Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; or combination of education and experience. + Minimum 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control. + Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. + Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle, etc.) for inventory and receiving transactions. + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. + Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Understanding and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations and safety practices and procedures. + Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications + Supervisory or lead experience in receiving or warehouse operations. + Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices. Working Conditions While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s location in St. Pauls, NC. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager. Physical Requirements - Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: + Ability to stand for long periods of time. + Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. + Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds. + Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor. + Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers. + Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
