This position involves performing visual and dimensional inspection of incoming resale and raw materials, time/temperature sensitive materials, hardware and in-process parts for quality workmanship, appearance and conformity to applicable specifications and standards. It involves packaging and distributing incoming articles after reviewing accompanying documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices: Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to blueprints, parts manuals, company or military standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information.May test hardness of metals, using testing equipment.May inspect outgoing and production line parts and materials.Who We Are

High school diploma or GED certificate.Position Requirements:
Technical/vocational training or college courses in technical sciences desirable. Four (4) years experience performing electro/mechanical inspections.Able to read and understand GDT principles, drawings and specifications and to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. Must pass the color blindness test for the NDT method being used and the brightness discrimination test for Radiography Film Interpretation, as applicable. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.Must be willing to work rotating shifts.Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notificationAbility to obtain U.S. security clearance
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:

The following information is a synopsis of key physical demand requirements determined from a detailed job analysis:
Postural: Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level. Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.
Dexterity: Must have a good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for hand tools and handling materials.
Cardiorespiratory Demand: Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform medium work involving constant standing and walking, material handling and performing work in a hot, humid environment.
General Physical Activities: Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.
Physical Demand Level - Medium: Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor. Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
