At Property Reserve, our people, values, and work come together to build something greater. Property Reserve is the real estate investment arm of the reserve funds for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the spirit of time-tested self-reliance principles, Property Reserve creates sustainable cashflow for future needs.
As caretakers of sacred funds, we invest in income-generating properties and land to support the Church’s mission. Our focus is on the acquisition, build-to-hold development, and portfolio level management of office, industrial, multi-family, build-to-rent, hospitality, and retail properties.
Property Reserve provides a diverse range of investment experiences, interacting with a seasoned leadership team. Working in a highly collaborative environment, each Property Reserve team member has the chance to contribute meaningfully and frequently to the company culture. Headquartered in downtown Salt Lake City, we offer a locale with a unique blend of world-class outdoor recreation, a thriving culture & arts scene, and diverse housing options with convenient commutes.
We are now looking to recruit an experienced real estate fund analyst with the right skills, values, and mindset, and who can see themselves in the following questions:
Passionate about commercial real estate equity investing?
Understand the key factors and characteristics which result in some fund sponsors having a better chance than others in performing in the top quartile of their peer set?
More naturally attracted to the investment vehicles within the real estate industry, albeit aware of alternative direct real estate opportunities and where we are in the market cycle?
Comfortable with high levels of individual accountability (across a diversified number of holdings) while also collaborating closely with team members?
Keen to add value within a flat partnership-like team structure that values regular communication – both formal and informal.
Happy to present convincing investment rationales to the team and committees, be subject to robust and rigorous debate in a professional and collaborative manner, and have the humility to admit on occasion when maybe more work needs to be done or the case might not stack up?
Comfortable in presenting, along with all team members, on mistakes that you have made in previous investments with the objective of constantly improving our investment process where possible?
A proven investment track record with strong communication and analytical skills?
Sensitive to capital preservation as much as capital appreciation?
Demonstrated grit to tackle and complete difficult and complex projects that generate long-term outsized alpha?
Driven by a larger purpose of helping protect and grow the reserve funds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
