Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee financial operations for multiple real estate development initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of job cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across all phases of development. Core Responsibilities: + Administer job cost accounting using Yardi Voyager, ensuring precise tracking and budget control. + Lead regular financial review meetings with development and finance teams to assess project performance and cash flow needs. + Partner with Project Managers to update and refine cash flow projections and funding strategies. + Manage accruals and ensure timely, well-supported entries for period-end reporting. + Review and validate construction contracts for completeness and policy compliance. + Contribute to annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. + Oversee contract closeouts and ensure thorough documentation. + Continuously enhance reporting systems to meet evolving business needs. + Investigate and resolve discrepancies in job cost reports; approve cost reallocations. + Ensure accurate and well-documented percentage of completion calculations. + Coordinate the transition from capitalized costs to depreciation or expense recognition. + Approve vendor setups and updates in the accounting system. + Research and document accounting treatments for unique or complex transactions. + Prepare audit documentation and support year-end financial processes. + Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as needed. Requirements Qualifications: + Minimum of 8 years of experience in real estate development accounting. + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. + Strong grasp of real estate accounting principles and job cost methodologies. + Familiarity with percentage of completion accounting is a plus. + Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Excel is required. + Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage teams. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities. + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. + Self-motivated with a customer-focused mindset and adaptability to change.
