Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.1-3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, materials engineering, or environmental standards.Knowledge of REACH regulations, chemical management processes, and related global standards.Proficiency in interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and technical documents.Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and analyze large sets of compliance data.Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data management systems.Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.Preferred Skills:Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated industries.Familiarity with tools and platforms used for material compliance tracking.Basic knowledge of alternative materials and substitution processes.Experience in supplier communication and audit support.
Position Summary:
The REACH Compliance Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations and similar chemical safety directives. Based within the Global Engineering Centre , this role focuses on supporting engineering and supply chain teams to ensure that products meet environmental and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, technical documentation, and chemical management processes.
Key Responsibilities:Regulatory Compliance Management:
Ensure all products comply with REACH regulations, including chemical registration, evaluation, and restriction requirements.Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to verify material compliance and gather necessary data.Data Collection and Analysis:
Analyze Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and technical specifications for substances used in aerospace components.Maintain up-to-date records and databases of chemical compositions and regulatory statuses.Collaboration and Reporting:
Work with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to assess the impact of new regulations on existing products and processes.Prepare compliance reports and support audits, providing required documentation to internal and external stakeholders.Risk Identification and Mitigation:
Identify risks related to restricted substances and proactively propose solutions to ensure regulatory compliance.Support development and implementation of material substitution strategies for non-compliant substances.Technical Documentation and Support:
Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements.Support supplier communications and audits to verify compliance across the supply chain.Continuous Improvement:
Monitor updates to REACH and similar environmental regulations, ensuring the organization stays compliant.Identify process improvements to streamline compliance activities and enhance data accuracyWork Experience
