Raw Material Purchasing Specialist

Team Overview and Job responsibilities 

We are looking for a Category Buyer to join our team.

Based in Sorocaba, Brazil,  reporting to the Head of Raw Material Purchasing Latam, will be responsible to develop and implement sourcing strategies that shall assure the best total value for the raw materials categories of Prysmian  LATAM . The buyer needs to have minimum of 2 years of experience as Senior Category Buyer leading negotiations with Global Suppliers and participate with Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Finance and Quality to identify supply chain opportunities.

Will focus on the following activities:

Responsible to consolidate regional volume demand, negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain the best prices. Monitor market trends and consumer behavior to identify best window of opportunity Create and implement strategies to optimize costs and efficiency, ensuring that the purchased material meet the company's quality standard and ensure the execution of the company's procurement policy and compliance - focus on process improvement and innovation.This position will also need to have good understanding of market environments and negotiate contract of supply and contract of rebate consistent with Company control guidelines maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers of but not limited to Steel, Polyethylene, PVC Compounds and other resins manufactures globally.Evaluate supplier performance and ensure they meet contractual requirements and established quality standards.Drives year over year savings and improves net working capital position of the company.Responsible for developing strategic sourcing plans for the negotiation, execution, and ongoing administration of agreements for raw material related commodities.Deals with situational complexity (supply chain focus, markets, risk allocation, senior level relationship, strategy development, manufacturing issues, shortages) Manages performance analysis and benchmarking processes for raw material related costs in the business. Identifies, prioritizes, and communicates key issues and opportunities and is a champion for changes to provide the business a competitive cost advantage of the supply of raw material commodities. Provides expertise in the development and deployment of supply risk management strategies and Supplier quality process including and procedure management & control. Develop and use dash board reports and manage complex data base to consolidate Regional Performance and KPI indicators

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a professional with the following skills and motivations: 

Graduation on Engineering and Administration Experience in managing Plastics commodities, and in industry environments such as Automotive, Industrial or Consumer Industries is preferred BS or BA Undergraduate Degree in engineering requiredAdvanced industry and specialized market of plastics and steel commodities, with demonstrated experience in contract development and negotiations Experience in a manufacturing environment in technical or business-related positionsProficiency of English and SpanishWork autonomously and collaboratively in a demanding and often ambiguous environment with attention  to details and effective prioritizationStrong skills in work collaboratively and cross functionally, analytical capabilities including experience handling large and complex data sets.Knowledge on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and dashboard will be a desirable differential
