Cushman & Wakefield seeks an ambitious Rating Technician to join our Commercial Real Estate team in Edinburgh. The position is based alongside our existing team in Edinburgh and covers property across Scotland. It is ideal for a recent graduate, early-career professional with strong research, data analysis, and organisational skills. It is also open to a candidate with rating experience who is seeking to progress their career in business rates and become a Chartered Surveyor You will support the rating and valuation processes for a range of commercial properties, with a focus on office assets, by gathering market data, analysing comparables, and assisting in the preparation of reports and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Research & Market AnalysisConduct property and market research using platforms such as CoStar and office agency websites.Identify and analyse comparable properties and transaction data to support valuation and rating decisions, including property asset inspections as required.Track market trends, rental levels, relevant to commercial assets.

Rating & Valuation SupportAssist in applying internal rating models and valuation frameworks to commercial real estate assets.Collate key documents including lease abstracts, floor plans, rent rolls, and financial statements.Support the production of client-ready reports and internal summaries.

Documentation & Data ManagementMaintain organised digital records of data sources, comparables, and valuation support material.Input and update property and financial data into internal systems and Excel models.

Presentation SupportAssist in creating PowerPoint presentations for internal stakeholders and client meetings.Help ensure data and visuals are accurate, professional, and aligned with brand standards.

Skills & Experience:

Has excellent research skills and can quickly source and verify property and market dataIs confident using CoStar and navigating commercial real estate websites (preferred not mandatory)Understands the basics of valuation and property analysis, particularly for office assetsIs comfortable analysing comparables and extracting insights from property dataCan efficiently collate and organize documents to support senior team membersIs proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables) and PowerPoint (presentations and formatting)Has strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learnHas a valid UK driving licenceBachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Geography, or a related field (recent graduates and / or candidates with some business rate experience encouraged to apply)Internship or coursework related to commercial real estate, property research, or finance is a plus
