At KBR, we are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer supporting the Rapid Capabilities (RapCap) Product Office in Huntsville, AL. The Systems Engineer is responsible for the oversight of design, integration, and managing complex systems and technologies that support Department of Defense programs. This role involves overseeing the entire system lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and sustainment. The Systems Engineer ensures that systems meet operational, technical, and security requirements while adhering to DoD standards and regulations. Roles and Responsibilities
+ Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document system requirements based on mission objectives. Translate operational needs into technical specifications.
+ System Design and Integration: Develop system architectures and designs that meet performance, reliability, and security requirements. Integrate hardware, software, and network components into cohesive systems.
+ Testing and Validation: Plan and execute system testing to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with DoD standards. Identify and resolve issues during testing and validation phases.
+ Lifecycle Management: Manage the system lifecycle, including development, deployment, sustainment, and upgrades. Ensure systems remain operational and effective throughout their lifecycle.
+ Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, test plans, and user manuals. Provide regular status updates and reports to program managers and stakeholders.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including program managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure system success. Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers as needed.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a related field
+ 2-5 years of experience
+ Ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD secret clearance
+ Experience in systems engineering, integration, or technical project management within the defense industry.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 2-5 years’ experience in the quality assurance field
+ Experience with the RapCap product office
+ Knowledge of DoD standards and regulations
+ Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and compliance
+ Strong understanding of defense systems and operational requirements
+ Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
