At SAN Systems Technology and Management office (SMT), we are on a journey to evolve customer support services utilizing automation, machine intelligence and artificial intelligence. We aim to transform customer support from reactive to proactive and preemptive.
Our Exciting Opportunity
We are now looking for a motivated and energetic RAN solution architect who would like to work at the forefront of technology and closely with Ericsson’s Market Areas and Customer units. The RAN solution architect will join a strong team of senior system engineers, developers, and solutions architects building innovative solutions addressing complex customer pain points. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious RAN solution architect who would like to work in a dynamic environment, close to customers, and with the latest technologies.
What you will do:
• Architect and systemize intelligent and AI-based solutions to address customer needs, particularly in the RAN domain. You will engage with market areas and customer units to understand the customer challenges and then work on proposing solutions to address them.
• Along with the development team, you will prototype and develop solutions to address the identified challenges utilizing the latest AI technologies and techniques, such as LLMs, RAGs, and Agentic AI.
• Engage in customer field trials to evaluate, tune, and improve the solutions.
• Conduct technical studies collaborating with units within SAN and across Ericsson, such as GAIA and product R&D units.
What you will bring:
• Strong knowledge with hands on industry experience in radio access networks, particularly in optimizing and improving RAN KPIs, demonstrated by previous experience in network design and optimization projects.
• Strong understanding and knowledge or RAN O&M, including hands-on experience in handling RAN data covering FCAPS (PM, CM, CTRs, UETR, baseband traces).
• Good knowledge and in AI based ran features (ex. AI based handovers) and good knowledge self-optimization features.
• Strong experience in and knowledge in RAN configurations, features, and releases.
• An explorative and experimenting mindset! This role requires someone who thinks differently and strives for improvements. Many of the challenges faced in this role have no known solutions; thus, the person is expected to dive into an unknown territory, gather information, experiment, and propose solutions.
• University degree in engineering or computer science with at least 8 years of experience.
• Team player is a must. Flexible and able to work in a very dynamic and fast-moving environment with colleagues from around the world.
• Good written and spoken English.
