Railroad Coordinator/Consultant

Stantec is seeking an experience Railroad Coordinator/Consultant. This position will be responsible for scheduling/coordinating work activities with client facility personnel, participate in design/permit reviews, logistics status and planning meetings, conflict resolution, change management and scope inspection/ documentation as directed by the project Director and field supervisor. The successful candidate will preferably be an Engineer with 20+ years of experience and familiar with implementation of remediation at active intercity rail facilities, technical skills in soil remediation/stabilization and rail facilities remediation contracting oversight and management.
Your Key Responsibilities
- An initiative-taking firsthand role in remediation of railroad facilities projects
- Participation in railroad remediation design through the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases
- Peer review of the other railroad disciplines’ design and associated reports prior to submission
- Liaison and coordination with railroad departments to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and with a consistent approach and aligned to contracts and work scope.
- Preparation of the status briefs, technical reports, design analysis and calculations
- Calculation/verification of quantities, preparation/verification of cost estimates, bid/tender documents , management of contractor deliverables, invoicing and project status reporting
- Provide technical direction to principal and expert level staff and oversee work products
- Working with Project Managers on developing design schedule and budgets
- Participation in the preparation of proposals and other strategic initiatives
- Interaction with clients and transportation agencies on a regular basis
- Adhere to Stantec Quality Management, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Must have a strong technical understanding of soil stabilization implementation projects at railroad facilities, remediation at rail yards and coordination of railroad departments
- Ability to supervise principal and expert level staff and coordinate work product production workload
- Ability to work in fast paced environment, meet the deadlines and budget targets
- Ability to work independently on projects and communicate potential issues with respect to scheduling, budget, or progress; and identify and approve change orders
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Professional Engineering license preferred, but not required
- Experience negotiating multi million $ level contracts, work scopes or budgets, railroad facility remediation plans, overseeing contractor execution and deliverables and regulatory compliance.

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
