Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Rail/Track Engineer - Civil  for employment within the New England region. Here you will have the opportunity to work side by side with career rail professionals throughout the US. delivering projects for transit clients with a focus on commuter, freight, short-line and class one rail.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for teamProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packagePerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsPerform civil design on a variety of rail/transit projectsPreparation of design documentsDevelop specifications, cost estimates and project schedulesPrepare technical reports and analysesDevelops estimates for the track engineering budgetsAssists in determining schedules to perform track workCoordinates with multiple departments related to a projects scope of workDevelop Procurement specificationsPerform field track inspections and develop criteria and testing requirementsCoordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large size projectsProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for specific area of expertiseReviews and approves track designs prepared by othersOversee and manage work within the ROW for multiple projectsWork with other track staff to manage projects on the east coast and around the countryMentor staff

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related +6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience with commuter, shortline, freight, transit, and class-one rail projects

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (PE), MA LicenseExpertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRail/Power Rail, MicrostationKnowledge of FRA, DOT, AREMA and local railroad/transit criteriaStrong analytical and communication skillsGood client relations experienceAbility to lead meetings related to trackLocal to Massachusetts
