He or she creates imaging protocols for cardiovascular CT and MRI examinations; works with nursing to provide care to patients before, during, and after scan acquisition; interprets diagnostic imaging and prepares reports of findings; communicates examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, and families; and develops short term treatment plans for radiology patients. The Radiologist Clinical Associate also contributes to ongoing quality efforts in the section through formalized peer review and updating of radiology informatics systems; provides training to resident and fellow physicians; and works with technologists in the section to trouble shoot during image acquisition. Weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities and periodic night and weekend hours as needed. Possible rotations at Akron General Hospital as needed. Intermittent telecommuting permitted. Requirements: At minimum, the position requires an MD or foreign equivalent as determined by a credentials evaluation or as evidenced by an ECFMG certificate; three (3) years of training in diagnostic radiology or radio diagnosis; and eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio.
