SUMMARYUnder the direction of a Workflow Coordinator ManagerSupervisor and or Team Leader performs or assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail Performs and assists in a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment good knowledge of anatomy positioning and a thorough technical knowledge of equipment Assumes responsibility for a designated area or procedure as may be requiredCOMPETENCIESbull Must have the ability to speak read and write using the English languagebull Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are desirable but not requiredbull The incumbent needs advanced math skills in physics in order to understand and set the level of radiologic exposure to the patient and themselves for the change from time to time Performs all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards protocols and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut Exhibits proficiency in conducting routine radiographic procedures and fluoroscopic exams including gastro intestinal studies ERCPrsquos Atrthrography Hysterosalpingography Urography and portable X Ray equipment including C Arm procedures Provides proper clinical patient care while performing diagnostic procedures Provides careful critique and assessment over the image quality Exhibits accuracy in computer documentation Mentors students in the clinical and ethical aspects of the Radiologic Technologist profession Maintains stock levels and personal protection equipment of assigned stations Exhibits constant awareness of infection control standards Works cooperatively to accomplish a task as a member of the team Performs miscellaneous duties as may be requiredEDUCATIONCERTIFICATIONbull High School diploma or GED equivalentbull Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT National Board and have a State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures or receive within months of graduationbull On an on going basis the incumbent must obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units CEUrsquos needed to maintain the currency of state licensurebull Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this roleEXPERIENCEbull Must be fully knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least two modalitiesbull Must have a complete working knowledge in the principals of physics anatomy medical terminology sterile technique and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practicebull Radiologic Technologists must meet the ECHN age specific knowledgeskill requirement annually
