Job Overview:

The Radiology Technologist position performs proper radiographic procedures as required by physician orders. Provides patient service using diagnostic, portable, and fluoroscopic equipment. The technologist is competent in the production of quality radiographs for proper treatment and diagnosis by physicians.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic TechnologyNJ Radiology licenseARRT CertificationBLS through the American Heart Association

Essential Functions:

Performs all routine radiographic procedures and views according to the department procedure manualPerforms and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic proceduresPerforms surgical and portable examinations as assignedPerforms visual checks on equipment and reports findings to appropriate personnelPrepares and maintains room and assures emergency supplies are intactParticipate in the teaching/preparation of patients/families as appropriate and according to age-specific guidelinesIdentifies problems and communicates with immediate supervisor/charge staff, offers solutions as appropriateInstructs radiology students according to clinical and didactic requirementsAdjusts technical factors in proportion to the patient and body part being examined, while minimizing radiationAssists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriate.
