Radiographic Testing (RT) Level 2 Technician

We are seeking qualified and experienced RT Level 2 Technicians to join our team at Howmet Aerospace. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of investment castings. The successful candidate will operate X-ray and gamma radiographic equipment using conventional film and/or non-film digital techniques, interpret results, and ensure compliance with stringent customer specifications. This role operates on a swing shift pattern, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm.
E nvironmental, Health & Safety Responsibilities:
+ Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
+ Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
+ Wear all required personal protective equipment.
+ Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
+ Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
+ Attend all EH&S training.
Interpersonal Responsibilities
This position has frequented internal contact with Engineering , Quality and other Manufacturing departments.
Essential Job Functions for Radiographers Level 2
+ Sets up and operates 320 KV X-ray units and IR192 Gamma units to radiograph investment castings according to customer requirements.
+ Darkroom operations - Loading film cassettes , basic processor maintenance and cleaning
+ Processing and sorting film.
+ Operate densitometers to verify film densities.
+ Complete records as required for the process which include internal , customer and NADCAP requirements,
+ Must be able to read and follow set up techniques.
+ Interpretation of radiographs and or digital images to determine if castings are free of internal defects per customer requirements.
+ Must be able to read customer acceptance criteria’s.
+ Determines if any repairs or rework is necessary.
+ Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
+ Performs other duties assigned by supervision.
Qualifications
RT Film or Non-Film Current or Previous qualifications , certifications and experience will be considered , but not limited to , the following codes;
+ Level 2 NAS410 / EN4179 (Preferred)
+ Level 2 ISO9712
+ Level 2 SNT -TC-1A
+ Level 2 PCN
The candidate will be expected to pass Specific and Practical internal exams to NAS410 Aerospace requirements in accordance with the UK National Aerospace NDT Board.
Specific training will be given to be able to qualify and certify the candidate for Investment Castings .
