Radio Frequency Specialist
Job Description Join a dynamic program where you’ll wear multiple hats, supporting radio frequency management and providing critical telecom administrative support. You’ll work closely with the customer, attend monthly meetings with government clients, and serve as a backup to the primary RF manager. Key Responsibilities include: Radio Frequency Management (25%) - Advise federal offices on radio frequency application and maintenance, ensuring compliance with NTIA regulations. - Manage and process all radio frequency and call sign requests; submit to NTIA for approval. - Research and analyze radio-related issues; prepare recommendations and submit requirements to NTIA. - Provide spectrum management support, including new frequency requests and interference analysis. - Monitor and update customer frequency assignments and database records. - Support transition to NTIA Narrow Banding requirements (VHF 162–174 MHz). - Assist with P25 compliance for customer radio equipment. - Maintain certifications/registrations for radio frequencies to ensure EPA retains them. - Expertise with VHF, Megahertz frequencies, and P25 systems preferred. Administrative & Telecom Support (75%) - Manage day-to-day changes, work orders (WO), installs, user changes, and requests via eBusiness platform. - Update and track changes pushed from eBusiness - Extract and prepare reports using ServiceNow. - Provide backup support for the primary RF manager - Collaborate with team members on admin/eBusiness tasks; training available for eBusiness if needed. Skills and Requirements - 8–10 years of relevant telecom experience, ideally as a Telecom Specialist - Bachelor’s degree highly preferred - Strong experience with ServiceNow (report extraction) and Excel - Familiarity with network certifications (SSL-style certs) and spectrum management - Acumen for annual validation and management of radio frequencies and certifications - Experience ensuring radio equipment meets the P25 requirement - Experience applying and operating Spectrum XXI SW - Experience with eBusiness platform is plus (training provided if needed)
