**About the Job**
The Radiation Therapist II is an experienced radiation therapist demonstrating full technical competency in all radiation therapy treatment procedures. This position collaborates with the Lead Radiation Therapist and Practice Manager to maintain department efficiency and quality of care, particularly in regards to treatment delivery processes. He/she maintains total functionality as a practicing radiation therapist while also serving as a resource/mentor to their radiation therapy peers.
**Here is what you'll do**
+ Demonstrates full technical competency in all radiation therapy treatment procedures:
+ Responsible to start and maintain a course of radiation therapy with minimal risk and complications. Administer therapy accurately and safely monitor and report effects, reactions, responses and incompatibilities.
+ Administers daily radiation therapy treatments, checks prescriptions, information in Aria and other related systems, ID patients correctly, explains procedures to patients, prepares rooms & patients for treatment, maintains patient's markings.
+ Promotes a safe work environment
+ Ensures open channels of communication within the department, other hospital staff, patients & patients family.
+ Share responsibilities for implementation of department/ hospital philosophy in rendering quality patient care.
+ Performs CT simulation and schedules patients as needed
+ Additional duties as assigned.
**Here is what you'll need**
**Minimum Required:**
+ Associate's degree
+ 3 years of previous job-related experience
+ Specific Degree(s): Radiation Therapy
**Licensure/Certifications**
**Required:**
+ American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
+ Approved Radiation Therapy License (IEMA)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
